Direct Cosmetic Bonding
Correct Minor Dental Flaws
Cosmetic bonding is a fast and convenient service that be used to correct minor dental flaws like gaps between teeth, cracks in the enamel, or even to change the shade of a certain tooth. In most cases, it will only require one visit to our Washington, D.C. practice, and the beautiful improvements should last for several years at a time. If you’re interested in scheduling an appointment, contact Davidson Dental Associates today! Our team looks forward to meeting you.
How Does Cosmetic Bonding Work?
One of our dentists will apply tooth-colored composite resin to the requested area of your smile. They’ll then carefully sculpt into the ideal shape, harden it in place with a curing light, and polish it so that it looks and feels natural.
Patients should keep in mind that this type of cosmetic service is more vulnerable to gradual chipping and staining than more permanent options like porcelain veneers. Bonding may also be recommended for restorative purposes, such as correcting the damage left by a cavity and fine cracks in the tooth.
If cosmetic bonding will not be capable of correcting the tooth’s shape and structure, a dental crown may be recommended by our dentists. This type of restoration has the longest lifespan, but it will require the most treatment time to complete. We can review your options with you in full during an initial consultation.
